When we learnt a new word, we learnt the Maori word for it too.<br />However, I've lived in Australia since i was 16 [20 years] and allthough i can teach my kids some Maori words, i have forgotten most of it. I can't speak any lan...I'm in the same boat as you. I can't speak any language but my own. (3 guesses as to what that is, eh?)<br /><br />I took 9 years of Spanish... and I've forgotten all nine years of it! (Well... thats not entirely true... I still remember useless things I learned 4th grades, such as colors or "Where is the Library?" Why the hell is that the first thing they teach you how to say when a room full of Spanish filled books is something a non-Spanish speaking person has any use for?)<br /><br />I also took up Japanese in college... something that I'm already loosing...
