Out of the dark

One of my friends is getting married soon. Actually the wedding is in February. She is trying to make her wedding as green as possible. She is using only organic or locally grown food for the dinner, she has green flowers, her dress is even made out of organic materials. They are having a late evening ceremony and are using candlelight to save energy. She is having a harder time coming up with a plan for the reception. But I think I may have found something to help her.

I found these wedding lights that are very energy efficient. They actually use 80% less energy that regular lighting. And to top it off they come in all different colors, sizes, styles. There are even some that look like little snowflakes that I think are just beautiful. Another good thing about these lights is that they can be reused after the ceremony for other events. She will love that!

Who Is Taking A Break

I'm going to be taking a break from this blog for awhile longer. I haven't been posting regularly due to my crazy schedule. So I thought I should officially post something to explain my absence. I don't know when or if I will come back here to post. I'm hoping that as my schedule levels out I will have time to get back with it.

Until then please feel free to visit my other blogs Hunna's Happenings and
The Making of A Mom!

Who Got An Award

I got a thinking blog award from Skittles! How nice of her!!! She is one of my regular readers and she leaves me great comments that I surely appreciate! Today she not only left me an award but also left a great question. WHERE ARE YOU?

I have been very busy and unfortunately that means not much time for blogging. I'm counting down the weeks till the end of the semester. Three to go now. Then I get a nice one month break before summer session begins. So now that it's close to the end of the semester my homework is just piling up. It seems endless but there is an end in sight. I hope that when the class work subsides a bit I'll have more time for blogging.

So that's where I am and what am doing. I'll try to get better about blogging daily again!

Have You Colored Easter Eggs

I haven't colored Easter eggs yet but Heather and I got all the stuff tonight to do it. We even boiled the eggs. Our plan is to color them all tomorrow. It's one of our favorite things to do. My favorite Easter egg color is green. I love letting my eggs sit for a long time in the green so they are really dark green. They look awesome that way.

So have you colored Easter eggs?

Have You Mowed Your Yard Yet This Season

Tonight my yard had to be mowed for the first time this season. The grass had gotten really tall from all the rain we have had. So now it's all mowed and edged and raked and it looks great. Welcome Spring!!!

Have you mowed your yard yet this season?

When Your Plate Is Too Full What Do You Let Go Of

Well obviously I tend to let go of my blogging. As soon as things get crazy at work or with homework I tend to drop my blogging. I haven't posted here in days and I hate that. I really enjoy keeping up with all my blogs and blogging buddies. So I really need to make sure I take at least five minutes a day to post and visit some folks. I'm gonna do better this week I hope.

So what do you let slide when your busy?

What Is Something You Would Like To Splurge On

I would love to splurge on my yard. I would love to have enough money to be able to afford a yard boy. While a cute yard boy would be nice to look at I would prefer a yard boy that could make my yard beautiful! I would love to have a gorgeous perfectly manicured lawn. That is my dream. I want the yard that makes people pause when they drive by. I want people to stop and say "Man that's a great yard." That's what I want.

What would you splurge on?

Are You Good At Math

I'm so horrible at math! It's pretty scary actually. I can add and subtract fine. But you throw multiplication or division in there and it gets frightening. My parents and sister are good at math. My dad used to get way mad when I couldn't multiply and my mom became addicted to flash cards in hopes of teaching me. Dad gave up the being mad and mom wore the flash cards out and I still didn't learn. So math just isn't my friend. Thank god I'm a social worker...

So are you good at math?

What Is Your Sign

Well I don't know how much I believe in the whole horoscope thing but my sign is cancer. It's a little crab. I think this is kinda funny because if I had cancer I would be crabby. Though I don't think that is what the sign means. Actually I looked around online and found this description of my sign.

The fourth sign in the Rashichakra, Karka ( Cancer ) love their home - their roots. Falling in the fourth house of the Kaalpurusha (Ursha Major), which denotes mother, Karka ( Cancer ) plays the same role. Farther the governing planet of the Rashi is Chandra (Moon), which rules over themind and denotes mother. This too enhances its role as mother The most empathetic zodiac sign, Karkas ( Cancer ) are often overly sensitive. They take great pleasure in the comforts of home and family and are at their best when all is peaceful at this front.

They nurture a maternal instinct, are domestic and love to nurture others. They adore large families, always providing for others, protecting and making a nest wherever they go. Karkas ( Cancer ) are traditional and prize family history and love communal activities. They also tend to be patriotic, waving the flag, whenever possible.

Karkas ( Cancer ) are more concerned with expressing emotions than on superficial conversations. They can appear to be moody, shy and too much like a baby. But on the contrary they are not shy, but protecting themselves against emotional exposure. Though very artistic and creative, often they get on the nerves for holding on to everything including wealth and even to every word that was ever said to them. Their mood swings are unpredictable -- sweet to cranky. The proverbial crab, they retreat into their shells, when hurt.

Extremely introvert and certainly not the easiest person to understand these crabs can hide emotions well beneath the tough exterior. Although kind and affable till the mood is stable, it is bitter and melancholic at the next, often feeling hurt unnecessarily. Trying to draw sympathy, Crabs can be fairly insensitive towards others, snapping, being rude and short-tempered. However, the seemingly rude behavior is only a clever means to hide their own insecurities and complexes -- almost like timid, hurt children. Karkas ( Cancer ) can be admirably kind, generous, understanding, charitable and gracious, if all is well with them.

Karkas ( Cancer ) can be seen standing by people in their time of need. Their good intuitive powers mostly put to good use in managing their own lives. Urges to travel to distant lands come but quelled since home is where you love to dwell.

Most often crabs hurt the ones most who have been good for them. They also tend to make a mountain out of the molehill and are prone to self-pity. Slightly untidy, this doesn't endear you to more stable signs. Unlike Dhanu, who have a place for everything, the Karkas ( Cancer ) idea is to put it somewhere, under the bed, in cupboards, anywhere -- not that you are not untidy -- you are the original hoarder. Karkas ( Cancer ) don't ask for much either, a comfortable home and sense of peace is what is most important. Crabs are also quick to help others and tend to avoid confrontation. In keeping with their nurturing bent, those born under this Sign enjoy their food. A hearty picnic in the park is heaven on earth to most crabs.

Karkas ( Cancer ) have a keen intellect and are good with their hands. They do well as painters, sculptors sales persons. However you are best when it comes to taking writing as a full-time profession. Most crabs will have reasonably good careers, although there will be a tendency to change to an entirely different field midway, say somewhat nearing 35 years. Money and material wealth are fairly important to and although nearly miserly with the money you earn, sudden windfalls and gains are often squandered away thoughtlessly.

Crabs romance those who are quite opposite to them in nature. They are strongly attracted to people who are confident, strong and successful. Although they fall in love all the time, their introvert nature and uneasiness in disclosing youre their true feelings makes many of these affairs one-sided. they are not likely to rush headlong into marriage, because in selecting a life partner, they are often governed by your their. Karkas ( Cancer ), Vrischika ( Scorpio ) and Meen ( Pisces ) will make good partners for Karkas ( Cancer ).

While it's not completely accurate there are some things that are pretty dead on. Weird.

So what is your sign?

What Do You Think of The Bestest

Well I used to think that The Bestest Blog of All Time really was the bestest. I thought that Bobby was a nice, creative, fun guy. But now I'm starting to realize that the bestest really isn't the bestest after all. I've been doing guest reviews for The Bestest Blog for several months now. I've loved doing it. Heck I know how fun it is to get named The Bestest Blog. Of course I enjoyed picking other people as The Bestest. However, Bobby's site is being run more and more by guest bloggers. In fact Bobby isn't doing any of the reviews anymore. All he does is PayPerPost ads and the guest bloggers do the reviews. Not so cool in my opinion.

Bobby has also found the time to post very frequently on a blog that he calls "Tanya's Weight Loss Journey". I'm pretty disappointed by that. This fake blog was made solely for PayPerPost ads. It's a horrible blog and all Bobby is doing is poking fun at other really great weight loss blogs and making money while doing it. Shame on you Bobby Griffin!

So I'm removing my link to his blog, I'm removing the random blog button, and I'm not doing any more guest reviews. I urge Bobby to explain himself and get back to being the Bestest.

So what do you think of the Bestest?

What Do You Call A Red Bird

You call a red bird a cardinal. Seems pretty simple right. Well I actually asked my sister that question today! I went outside and there was a cardinal sitting on the mailbox. It was really pretty and I rarely see cardinals so I was pleased about it. But for the life of me I could not remember that it was a cardinal! So I came in and asked my sister what you call a red bird. As soon as she said cardinal it came back to me. I felt like an idiot. But you call a blue jay a blue bird so I guess I thought maybe we called cardinals red birds.

What do you call red birds?

Have You Done Your Taxes Yet?

I haven't done my taxes yet. Heather and I are actually going this afternoon to do our taxes and honestly I'm a little scared. I really don't want to owe anything! I'd really love a big fat return but I don't think that is going to happen. I had a lot of investment stuff change hands this year since my mom died so I have a feeling that might get me. I guess we will find out in a few hours.

So have you done your taxes yet?

What Wild Animal Would You Want For A Pet

If I could have a wild animal for a pet I would want a giraffe. I have no idea where I would keep a giraffe but I'd sure like to have one. I think they are beautiful. Their colors and height are pretty amazing. And their tongue is really long and strong. One time when I was a kid we went to a drive through zoo place and a giraffe tried to pull our windshield wipers off with it's tongue. It was crazy to watch. So as long as I could keep the giraffe away from the car I would want one for a pet.

What wild animal would you want for a pet?

What Did You Do For St. Patricks Day

For St. Patrick's day I went on a girl's weekend. We rented a suite in Kansas City and partied like crazy. We really had a fabulous time! It has been a long time since I've partied and hung out with the girls so it was lots and lots of fun. I really needed a break from school and stress. And luckily I got one!

So what did you do for St. Patricks day?

Who Has Taken A Research Class

I am taking a research class now. I'm so sick of it. There is so much work for this class and honestly I feel really lost the majority of the time! It's getting old. I'm also not so good with numbers. Okay let's get real. I'm really really horrible at anything related to math! It's very bad and scary to watch me attempt anything over addition and subtraction. It's just not pretty. So research and I are not getting along so well. I'm just counting down the weeks until it's over!

So have you taken a research class?

Have You Ever Had A Pair of Red Shoes

I have never had a pair of red shoes. That is until tonight! I found the most adorable pair of red high heal shoes tonight for $13.00. I was thrilled! They look like red Mary Jane's but with a short heal. Very cute and fun! Gotta love that.

So have you ever had a pair of red shoes?

Do You Need A New Toothbrush

Okay I hate to admit it but I really really need a new toothbrush! In fact I don't remember when I got the one I'm using and that is a bad thing. I brush my teeth a lot. I'm kinda weird about it. I probably brush them four or five times a day. It feels like I brush them even more since I quit smoking. But my toothbrush gets a lot of use. So it's wearing down and the little bristles look sad and I've got to let it go and get a new one.

So do you need a new toothbrush?

Have You Ever Rode A Horse

I have ridden a horse before. When I was a kid my dad had a friend that had a couple horses. When we went to visit him he would let me ride one of the horses. I remember it was an older black horse that was very calm. I was scared the first couple times but after that I really enjoyed it. I think I would like it now as an adult but it's been years since I've ridden. I don't even know anyone with a horse anymore.

Have you ever rode a horse?

Have You Ever Been To A Therapist

I have been to a therapist. In fact I'm seeing a therapist right now. I had been doing some bereavement counseling through Hospice but that wasn't cutting it for me. I was starting to feel like my grief was really turning into depression and had passed the normal grieving stage. So off to therapy I went. I think it is helpful. If for nothing else it's nice to get some other ideas and things to try. I'm just going for a few more sessions but I hope it helps and I get to feeling back to normal soon.

So have you ever been to a therapist?

Are You Ready For Spring

I'm so ready for spring! It was really nice here today but yesterday was pretty cold. We are in that teasing period now. You know the stage. The one where you think it might be Spring and then the next thing you know it snows. Yeah that fun stage! I'm ready for that to be over. I'm really looking forward to just regular Spring with no surprise cold thrown in. I want tulips and daffodils. I want to wear capri's and flip flops. I want to spend time outside and not see my breath! Heck I just want a warm afternoon walk.

So are you ready for Spring?

What Are You Doing To Get Healthy

Now that I've quit smoking I'm really trying to focus on becoming as healthy as possible. Very soon I will be adopting a beautiful child from Ethiopia and I will be a single parent. So being as healthy as possible has to be my top priority. So some thing that I'm trying to focus on include Keeping a healthy heart and Losing Weight. I think that both of these things would help me be a healthier person and a healthier mom.

This site www.healthadel.com is helping to keep me on track. There are lots of great health articles that have provided me with some motivation and information. There is also a search feature that I used to look up adult onset diabetes and I found an informative article about it quickly.

So I'm trying to inform myself and take action in my attempt to get healthy. What is it that you are doing to get healthy?

Who Has Quit Smoking

I have quit smoking! I'm so excited! Well if you would have asked me Saturday I wouldn't have been excited. I would have been a big grump. But now that a few days have passed and the cravings aren't as intense I'm feeling very happy about my non smoking self. It's nice to know that I'm not a slave to it anymore.

So have you quit smoking and if so what tips do you have to keep me motivated?

Who Is Your Favorite Painter

My favorite painter is for sure Monet. I really love his work. I was able to go see a Monet collection in Boston with my Dad and sister about 8 years ago. It was a beautiful collection and quite large. Then when my sister and I went to visit my dad in Las Vegas a Monet collection was at the Bellagio Gallery and he wanted us to go. We said we really wanted to go to Thunder from Down Under or Cirque De Soilel but dad said "How many people have the opportunity to see the Monet's in their lifetime". We reminded him we had already seen them and his response was "How many people can say they have seen the Monet's twice in their lifetime?" Needless to say we went again. And suprisingly the collection in Vegas was larger then the one we had seen before so it was all good. We saw several pieces we had never seen before so it worked out well. And now I can tell people I've seen the Monet's twice.

So who is your favorite painter?

Have You Been On A Hot Air Balloon Ride

I have never been on a hot air balloon ride. I have always wanted to do it but never have. When I was between the ages of 13 and 15 I was good friends with a girl whose dad participated in Hot Air Balloon Rallies. What we would do was trail his balloon. We would basically follow the balloon in a truck on the ground. Then we would help land it and put it away. So I did a lot of hard work with the balloon but never got a ride! My mom went once though and LOVED it! It's pretty funny that she liked it so much because she was scared of heights. But she had a great time. Someday I'm going on a Hot Air Balloon.

Have you Been on a Hot Air Balloon Ride?

Have You Seen AapkaVideo

We have all seen or heard about YouTube. It's pretty stinking popular. Now there is some competition out there AapkaVideo - Indian Videos. Yes you read that right. There is a new site out there called AapkaVideo that is completely dedicated to Indian Videos. It's kind of interesting. There are some crazy videos, some funny videos, and some that are a bit risque. So when you get tired of the same old thing with YouTube you ought to check out AapkaVideo.

Did You Vote Today

I did vote today. We had a primary election here. It was just a one question ballot which is really odd. It seemed too easy! All it was over was city commissioners. You could pick three or less from the list and submit. Easy picking for me. There were only three guys that I was even interested in so it made it pretty simple! I don't think many people had gone to vote even though it was 4:00 p.m. When I walked in the little old ladies running the precinct seemed VERY happy to see me. They were very nice little gals.

So did you vote today?

What Did You Think Of The Oscars

I thought the Oscars were great. I didn't get to watch all of it but the parts I saw were wonderful. I thought that Ellen did a great job hosting. She seemed very comfortable. And I liked Forest Whitacker's speech. I just wish that he didn't have it written out. I don't like it when they write the speech ahead of time. I'm glad Jennifer Hudson won for Dreamgirls. She is amazing! And I loved her dress.

Okay enough of me... what did you think of the Oscars?

Are You Watching The Oscars

I am going to try to watch the Oscars tonight. I have a lot of homework so I don't know how much of it I will get to watch but I am going to try. The Oscars are one of my favorite awards shows. I wanted to have an Oscar party this year but just didn't have the time. Maybe next year...

So are you watching the Oscars?

What Is Your Favorite Game Show

My favorite game show has always been Family Feud! I love it. I think my family would rock at that game. I think the old host was better than the new one. The new guy is the guy that used to play Al on Home Improvement. He isn't horrible but he isn't as fun as the old guy. If I was on Family Feud the hardest part for me would be picking what other family members to take on the show with me. We would totally win though!!!

So what is your favorite game show?

Do You Donate To The Fraternal Order of Police

I do donate to the Fraternal Order of Police. My mom used to donate and now I do. It's just something that I've always done. In the past I could always anticipate their call for donations and then I would get the little sticker to put in my window. Now if you donate you can Get your FOP Gold Supporter Shield! It's better than a sticker. And now it's even easier to make donations than ever before. You can simply go to www.fopdonate.com and make your donation online. It makes it very easy for you to do a good thing!

Which Is Better... What You Look At Or What You See

Okay first I'm so sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Things have been crazy busy in my world and I'm so behind. Time flies!

This question was posed to me by my step mom Cricket. She is killing me. Who asks something like this???? How about a simple question?

But after thinking about it I like what I see better than what I look at. Mainly because what I see is viewed through my feelings, perceptions, etc. If I want to put my rose colored glasses on I can. So what I see is pretty good right now...

What about you all... Which is better for you. What you see or what you look at?

How Was Your Valentine's Day

I've had a good Valentine's Day. I got some cute Valentine's cards. It's always nice to get happy mail! Roy, my ex boyfriend called me today to wish me a happy Valentine's Day. He also offered to come by my office and pick up my car to take it to get the oil changed. I took him up on the offer. So I got an oil change from my ex for Valentine's Day. How many people can say that! :-) Anyways it's been a good day.

How was your Valentine's Day?

Are You Promoting Your Blog

I'm always looking for good ways to promote my blogs. And I always like it when it is free and fun! www.Outpost-Earth.com offers all of that! What you do is go and visit to start with. Then you very simply sign up for free! What's cool is that you get to pick the categories that your blog is listed in. If they don't have a category for your blog then you can suggest one. Other users can find you in the category section which is nice. But what is even better is that as you update your blog you get even more exposure on the home page. So the more you update the more exposure you get which means more traffic for you! Again it's free! I'm signing up and I hope you do too. Maybe I'll see you at www.Outpost-Earth.com.

So are you promoting your blog?

Have You Been To The Carnival

Cass is hosting the Postie Carnival today. You ought to stop by and visit. There are quite a few great blogs participating. I bet you can find at least a couple you really enjoy. I have visited about 10 so far and the posts are really good this time around. I'm impressed!

Have You Seen The News Section

Lombard Direct has added a new section to their website. The news section includes a great deal of useful information about banking news and property prices. There is a great article regarding self-employment that I found helpful. While being self employed can improve your quality of life now it can set you up for financial insecurity when retirement comes around. The article made me really think about my desire to be my own boss someday. Overall this website provides clear information that is easy to read and informative. I recommend that you take the time to visit.

Can You Do Any Magic Tricks

I am horrible at magic tricks. I can't do a single one! I really wish I could though. As a child I loved magic shows. I still do actually. I always thought it was fascinating and it could hold my attention for hours.

So can you do any magic tricks?

Do You Have Kids

I don't have any kids. I really want kids. In fact I know a lot of people that want kids but have a lot of trouble actually having kids. There are lots of different ways to create a family. I'm adopting which is the right fit for me. Some of my friends have conceived through lots of different types of infertility treatments. That was the right fit for them. And I've even met someone that has used a surrogate mother. There are lots of ways to create a family and none of them are any better than any other way. There is a great site out there that provides information for families about pregnancy, pregnancy rates, and women's health issues.

So do you have kids?

I got interviewed! And it was really fun! Kumiko interviewed me. It's about time someone asked me some questions for once huh... Feel free to check out my interview and some other great interviews by visiting Kumiko's blog Bloginterview.net!

Have you been interviewed?

Have You Heard About Review My Post

Just in case you didn't know PayPerPost the amazing ad network that is helping me make money has a great new program! It is called Review My Post. I'm so impressed with this program. It really is a fabulous idea. And the best part is that it is so so simple! Ya gotta love simple!

What I do is post a little button like this one on any of my posts. It can be a regular post or a sponsored post. It doesn't matter which type. Then you my lovely readers can click on that button. Have You Been In A Play

I have been in a play. I loved school plays when I was a kid. From 7th grade on I participated in every school play in some manner. Sometimes I acted though that wasn't my favorite thing to do. Most of the time I was the stage manager which I loved! There was just something very fun to me about starting something and everyone being lost and confused and then watching it all fall into place by opening night. I also made a lot of great friends from my time spent on plays. You spend a lot of time together and really get to know people that way.

So have you been in a play?

Have You Ever Owned A Ford Mustang

I have never owned a Ford Mustang but someday I would like too. I love the 2007 Mustang. I think it's a really beautiful car. It's definately new but it has the look of an older Mustang which is nice. I would like the features of a new car but the feel of an old car if that makes any sense. I like the muscle car look. I wouldn't want a soft top. I'm not a big fan of that. I would have to have a hard top for sure. And I would want it to be white.

I know some people that have red Mustangs. That's what you usually see. Darby, my best friend's mom Donna has a red Mustang. I have driven it a couple of times. I really like it but so many people have the red ones. So I would want white so I could be a little bit different. White would be hot. And I'd like to have leather seats. Probably gray leather. And since I'd have enough money to pay for the Mustang I would go all out on the features. I'd have the navigational system so I could put the being lost in the city routine to rest, a kicking stereo, and dual climate control. I think if I had all of that I'd be a pretty happy Ford Mustang owner!

Have You Ever Owned A Ford Mustang?

Do You Like Donuts

I do like donuts. I don't eat them very often. Obviously they don't match up with the whole diet plan I'm on... Too bad donuts aren't good for you. My favorite kind of donuts are the Krispy Kreme glazed donut with the chocolate frosting! That's the best!!!

So do you like donuts and what kind is your favorite?

Have You Been To Bulgaria

I have never been to Bulgaria. But Katie a girl I work with has gone several times. She loves it. She and her husband want to buy property in Bulgaria and move to Bulgaria in the next few years. She talks about Bulgaria all the time!!! What I think is funny is that Katie hates water but she loves to go to the beach in Bulgaria... Doesn't make sense to me but whatever works for her.

So have you been to Bulgaria?

Have You Ever Gotten A Speeding Ticket

I have gotten a speeding ticket. It's been about 6 years now and I've only had one but it was expensive. I was driving in the city trying to find my cousins house for the first time. So I was focused on the street signs and I guess I missed the flashing yellow school zone sign! I don't know how I did that but I did. So I got pulled over doing 31. What's weird is I stopped right in front of the speed limit sign and it said 30 so I was a little unsure of why I was being stopped until the cop informed me it was a school zone! I felt like such an idiot. I totally desearved the ticket and didn't even attempt to get out of it. I have however talked my way out of a couple tickets since then... :-)

So have you ever gotten a speeding ticket?

Who Is Making Money

I'm making some money and it's all thanks to PayPerPost!!! I've been doing PayPerPost since October 23, 2006. Hard to believe it's only been a little over three months. I guess time really does fly when your blogging! In that time I have made $912.23 and in the next 30 days I have another 336.88 heading towards my PayPal account! That's pretty exciting to me.

I don't do a whole lot with numbers. Math was never my best subject but I did figure a couple of things out that I think I ought to share. I've made 187 PayPerPost posts on two blogs. So it evens out to about $6.70 a post. That works for me. Or another way to look at it would be that I'm earning about $13.00 a day. Again that works for me! Either way the money is very nice. Does Your Pet Do Weird Things

My dog Lena has to be one of the weirdest animals I've ever seen. For one thing she is soooo rotten! This week she has started a new little game for herself. She refuses to drink out of her water bowl in puppy prision. I call my laundry room puppy prison because that is where she says while I am at work. Well she just won't drink anything in there so when I get home and let her out she runs straight for her water bowl in the kitchen and drinks like a crazy woman! It makes no sense to me. And then tonight I watered all my plants and she started drinking the water out of the plants. So she has two water bowls full of water but drinks the plant water. So then she had mud and leaves in her beard from the plant! I just can't win with that dog. It makes no sense to me!!!

So does your pet do weird things too?

Who Wants To Say Hi

I personally think this is one of the coolest online dating services out there! Not only did they have the most adorable name but it is also offers Free Online Dating. And I don't mean free like a lot of the others. They don't let you make your profile for free and then charge you for matches. The whole thing is free! I love free and I love to say Hi! So pay them a visit, say hi to some folks and who knows you may have one hot date for Valentine's Day!

So do you want to Just Say Hi?

What Do You Collect

I collect several things. One of my favorite things are Willow Tree Angels. I've ended up with quite a large collection of them. I have more than 20 of them but there are still dozens that I want but don't have yet... Someday though.

Some other things that I collect include teapots, umbrellas, ladders, and windchimes.

So what do you collect?

What New Blog Did You Visit Today

Today I visited a great blog called Pencil Thin. While the blog isn't new it is new to me. I'm enjoying it! There are a lot of great tips for healthy eating and living which I need. There was a recipe that I just can't wait to try. There are also some funny jokes and we all know that laughter is really good medicine. So go get your daily dose!

How Much Is A Gallon of Gas

Today I had to fill up my car and gas is now $2.09 here in good old Kansas. That is actually lower than it was 6 months ago but higher than last week. Last week I filled up for $1.98 a gallon. I hate that it fluctuates so much. I'm grateful it is below $2.50 but I'd really like for it to stay below $2.00. I don't know how realistic that is but it would sure be nice. What I'd really like is to have a car that doesn't need gas. That would make me really happy. Sometimes I think my next car ought to be a hybrid....

So how much is a gallon of gas in your area?

Have You Been To Dubai

I have never been to Dubai but I guess it's a pretty hot place. Not just temperature hot but things are happening there kinda hot. There are some beautiful man made islands there and lots of other interesting property in Dubai. Something I think is pretty awesome about Dubai is that fact that they have virtually no income tax! I love that!!! I'm working on my taxes now and it's making me very unhappy. Dubai may be the place to go... I could handle living on an island...

Have you ever been to Dubai?

Have You Ever Been Fingerprinted and Why

Well today I was fingerprinted. It's the first time I've ever had that done. It was kinda weird. Very messy! But the guy at the police station that did the prints was very nice and funny.

I am in the process of adopting a baby from Ethiopia and I have to be fingerprinted as part of the home study process. So at least it wasn't due to being in trouble. They probably aren't as friendly when you are in trouble...

So have you ever been fingerprinted and for what?

When Was The Last Time You Climbed A Fence and Why

The last time I climbed a fence was about a year ago. For some reason my key would not work in my front door. So I had to climb my fence to get in the backyard so I could go in the back door. I remember it was raining and really really cold and I was pissed off! At no point do I want to climb a fence late at night in the rain!

So when was the last time you climbed a fence and why were you climbing it?

What Part Of The Newspaper Do You Always Read

I always read the daily record section of the newspaper. This is the section that lists the arrests, court dates, and hospital admits and dismissals. It also has the obituaries and birth announcements. I have to read this section. I always go to it first and check to see if any of my clients have been arrested for something or had a court date. You would be shocked how often I find someone I know... Crazy.

So what part of the newspaper do you always read?

How Would You Spend $100 If You Just Found It

If I just found $100 on the ground or it just fell out of the sky I would spend it on me. I would spend it on something nice or fun or relaxing. I'd probably get a massage... or maybe I would get a some books that I have on my wish list... or I might save it for spring so I could spend it on flowers. That would work.

So if you just happened to find $100 how would you spend it?

Do You Know Belisi

***************This is a sponsored post******************

Peter Belisi is hot right now. People are talking about him and his clothes and his websites. The man has class and style and flair. Things I like! What I love is that so many of his handbags, shoes and clothes are bright and fun but still have a professional pulled together look to them. That is hard to pull of sometimes but he does it. He now has a website www.beingbelisi.com that is pretty awesome. The website displays some of his great items, Hollywood happenings, info on who is wearing what and how you can pull it off too. So stop by, get some advice and don't forget who Belisi is.

Do You Think It Is Okay To Take Your Own Snacks To The Movies

Yes I think it is okay to take your own snacks to the movies. I don't think it is okay to get caught. There is a fine art to sneaking in treats. What you do is pop your popcorn at home. Place it in a Ziploc bag and make sure it is sealed tight. Then place it into your over sized purse. Do not place the sodas in the same purse. That makes the popcorn cold faster! You put the cans of soda in your hoody pocket and keep your coat zipped until you are in the theater. If you want candy you can put that in the purse. So that's how you do it folks. It will save you big money! Aren't you glad I could help ya!!!

So do you think it is okay to take your own snacks to the movies?

What Is Your Dream Car

Well I have a couple dream cars. But the big dream car right now is the Nissan Skyline GT-R. In fact I haven't driven a Nissan that I didn't love. I had a Sentra for years and loved it. Then my dream car was the Altima. But now that they have introduced the Skyline it has moved to the top of my list. I'd like to get one when I get done with grad school. Until I can have one of my own I think I'll just visit the Skyline GT-R forums and dream a little bit!

So what is your dream car?

Is The Presidental Election Buzz Bothering You Yet

Some folks I know are already annoyed by the presidental election buzz. Everyone and there dog is forming exploratory committees it seems. Will it be Hillary... Obama.... John McCain.... Sam Brownback (he's from Kansas)... Honestly the buzz doesn't bother me. I'm getting excited. I love presidental elections. I love the debates, the discussion, and the honestly I like the drama a little bit. It's exciting to know that change is coming... God knows we need it!!!

Have You Ever Been Stuck In An Elevator

I have been stuck in an elevator on one occassion. I was in undergrad and was taking the elevator to class. The power went out and I and one other girl in my class were stuck in the elevator for about an hour. At first I was a little freaked out but after a coule minutes it wasn't so bad. We just talked and joked around and I'm sure we had a way better time than we would have had if we had been in our history class. I'm glad the elevator wasn't packed though. That wouldn't have been fun at all!

So have you ever been stuck in an elevator?

Have You Seen The Apple iPhone

I have seen some cool pictures of the Apple iPhone. It looks really fun! Since Lena, my dog, has chewed the heck out of my cell phone and I need a new one I think the iPhone may be the one for me! The Apple iPhone is due out sometime this summer. So I may try to hold out on buying a new phone until then. I have signed up for email updates so I will know as soon as the phone is available to buy!

So have you seen the Apple iPhone and would you buy one?

Have You Heard About This Guy

I've recently heard about this guy that renamed Halfway, Oregon. It's now known as Half.com, Oregon! How funny is that. Now he has written a book about it called Buzzmarketing. I just wonder how he convinced the citizens in Halfway that a change to Half.com would be a good idea... He is also a professional speaker now.

Have you ever heard of this guy or have you ever heard of Half.com, Oregon?

What Is The First Movie You Saw In A Theater

I remember seeing 101 Dalmations and E.T. in the theater. I was pretty young for both of them and don't remember which one I saw first. I remember my Dad and Uncle John took me to 101 Dalmations and my mom and dad took me to E.T. I think I fell asleep during 101 Dalmations but I remember watching all of E.T. I really liked that movie!

So what was the first movie you saw in a theater?

Did You Watch American Idol

I did watch American Idol! I'm so excited that it is on again. I miss it a little bit during the off season. I really enjoy the first couple weeks and the last couple weeks the most. I like watching the really crappy crazy people and then I like watching it when the last few get really good. Hopefully it will be a good season. I really kinda want a girl to win this year....

So did you watch American Idol tonight?

Do You Want A Spoofcard

This post is sponsored by www.SpoofCard.com. They have a rather interesting and possibly dangerous product. With the spoofcard you can change what people see on their caller id, disguise your voice, and record phone calls. While it would be a fun gadget to use to prank some friends or goof around I could also see the downfalls. I could see one of my clients using this product to really screw with people. The way it is used is really determine by the type of person who purchases it and what their intentions are.

So would you want a spoofcard?

If They Made A Movie About Your LIfe What Would The Title Be

If someone made a movie about my life the title would be... God Said Ha! I would be played by Rosie O'Donnell. My sister would have to be Lila Sobeski and my mom would be Diane Keaton. I don't know who would play my dad or any of my other family members or friends.

So if there was a movie made about your life what would the title be and who would play you?

Who Was Your Favorite Teacher

I have been very fortunate when it comes to teachers. I had so many great teachers throughout my school years. So I have to pick a few....

Elementary school was full of good teachers. But the standout was Mr. Kirk. He was my fifth grade teacher and he was great. He really made learning fun! He had creative projects, a great sense of humor and he really made you feel like you could do anything. Great man!

Middle school was hard for me. In fact I hated middle school. But Mrs. McDonald was a great teacher. She taught communications classes, drama, and speech. She was the director for all the school plays and I was in each one. I loved her. She was killed in a car accident when I was in high school and her funeral was so big people had to stand outside. She made an impression on so many people.

High school was worse then middle school for me. I spent a lot of time skipping class and acting like an ass when I was there. Finally I was able to go to an alternative highschool and I met Ms. Lockyear. She was FUNNY! She taught all my English classes and walked me through the classics. I loved to read and loved to listen to her describe all the great works. She still teaches and I get to see her every once in awhile when I go to visit kids on my caseload at school. Yes I've thanked her for being so great!

So those are my favorite teachers. Who was your favorite teacher?

Do You Need A Barn Cam

********This post is sponsored by www.barncam.com********

Becki my office mate at work is married to Matt. Matt is a good old boy, he farms, he runs cattle, and he operates his own feed business. He and Becki both get very serious about their cattle. They have spent hours hunting for a calf and when it's cold they haul fresh water constantly so the cows don't get thirsty. They take the cows very serious. Whenever anything happens to the cows they get very upset. Which is why I think they need BarnCams. Then they could keep an eye on the cattle and not worry so much.

So do you need a barn cam?

What Is Your Favorite Age

I think my favorite age so far has been 25. That was a pretty good year for me. But I'm really looking forward to 29. Everyone I know says that 29 is the best year. I've been looking forward to it since I turned 20. So I'm getting closer. My dad used to write in my birthday cards only 6 only 5 only however more years till you are 29. So I'm counting down the days. Only a couple more years left!

So what is your favorite age?

Which Online Dating Service Is The Best

******This post is sponsored by www.datingreviews.org*******

In fact many of you told me that online dating is how you connected with your boyfriends, girlfriends, and spouses. So it's working for you all. So now the big question is which dating service is the best one. There is now a site that will allow you to compare online dating services. The site allows users to rate and review different dating services they have used. Then by utilizing the different reviews a visitor could determine which dating service is right for them.

So which online dating service do you think is the best?

Who Is Your Best Friend

My very best friend would be Darby who I have nicknamed Darbis. I give nicknames to all the people I love the most. It's just something I do. So Darbis is that bestest friend for a million and one reasons. She can make me laugh so hard and she is a great listener. She is a super mom and wife and one hell of a great social worker and soon to be nurse. She is beautiful and caring and kind and straight forward. So she is just the bestest friend ever.

So who is your best friend?

Have You Heard Of This Website

I stumbled upon this website www.unsigned.com today and you have to visit it! The site just launched on January 8th so it is very new but really is a great idea. What they do is provide independant artists an outlet to showcase their music. Then listeners, like me, and hopefully you can come and check out the new music. For just launching they have a pretty good selection of artists and I had fun searching through the different genres. I really like independent artists. I love that they are still hungry and work so hard to put out fresh music. So this is a site that I have now bookmarked as a favorite.

Since the site did just release not all of their features are up yet. But some of the upcoming features include a music player so you can manage all your favorite artists, a play list editor, a page builder and a CD creator. So I know that even though they are already off to a great start they will have even more great features to come. Something to look forward to.

So had you heard of this website before this post?

Are You Having Problems Leaving Comments

The last couple of blogs that I've visited and tried to leave comments on have not let me. For some reason I enter all the little letters for the security thing and it says I have them wrong. I tried three different times and each time it said the letters weren't right. I don't get it. I'm paid attention and made sure it was right. So crazy! I hate those letter things. Really how much do they help? I don't have them on my comment section because I think they are annoying... This is the first time I've really had to much of a problem with them though. I wonder if it's a system problem?

So are you having problems leaving comments?

Who Wants To Be Asian

*************** This is a paid post *****************

I don't know that I want to be Asian but I do want to learn more about the Asian culture. I have a large number of Asian clients right now and really know very little about the culture. Which is odd since my dad was married to an Asian woman for awhile. I was younger then and didn't pay attention much I guess. But this site that I found offers quite a bit of information about the Asian community, news, fashion, and entertainment. Very helpful and interesting.

What Book Are You Reading

I know that I have done this question before but I'm doing it again. I figure that this is a constantly changing answer and it is a great way for you all to give me some ideas about what books you enjoy and what ones I should try.

I am reading Saving Graces by Elizabeth Edwards. This book is amazing. If you have ever lost someone you loved this is the book to read. She gets it when it comes to grief. It's the first book I've read that I've felt like it really described the way I feel. She also has amazing stories about her life, political adventures, creating a family, and how to reach out to others. So I would recommend it!

Please let me know what book are you reading?

Do You Need A Digital Camera

**********This Is A Paid Post**************

I have a digital camera but I'm always looking for a new one. I take so many pictures and enjoy it so much that I'm always on the hunt for something nicer, newer, and better quality. I've found a site that can help with my hunting...

If you are looking for digital camera news then you may want to take the time to visit logicamera.com. They offer the latest reviews of different digital cameras and can really help make the decision making around what camera to buy a little bit easier for you.

They have reviews for Canon and Olympus brand cameras that include all of the specs for each camera. I find that to be the most helpful. I get overwhelmed trying to figure out the differences and compare cameras sometimes. So this makes it pretty easy. You can quickly determine which camera has the options you need. Saves you time hunting and time getting frustrated at the store. It also saves you money because if you are anything like me you will end up switching cameras pretty often so you can have the best quality. Taking the time to do the research in advance can save you from having to replace a camera before you really need to.

Do you need to know...

I don't know if you need to know about these things but I'm sharing them with you.

The deadline to enter the Bester Blog Carnival is fast approaching. To enter you need to have your submissions in no later than 11:59 on January 10th. That's tomorrow!

The PPP Postie carnival is coming up also. Please click here to enter. The deadline for this carnival is January 14th.

Also here are a couple of new bloggers that I hope you will visit. If you do pay them a visit let them know that I say happy blogging. They are Quenten and Craig.

Thanks for all the visiting and comments lately! I've really enjoyed all the answers to my questions. If you can think of a question for me make sure to leave it in the comments and I will get it answered.

Who Needs Some Makeup

*****************This Is A Paid Post *******************************

Okay so let's be honest... I don't really need makeup. In fact I don't really "need" much of anything. But I found a great site that sure does make me want a few things....

Bisou Cosmetics that is sponsoring this post has a really fun interactive website and store. Look at how cute their site is! I love the design and found it really easy to navigate and find the items I was interested in. The layout is different from most online stores which is nice. Sometimes I get tired of going to different stores that really all look the same. They did a good job being unique with the design element.

Bisou Cosmetics recently reopened this summer and they are offerring kits and discount cards. So not only do you get to find some cute new stuff but you can get it at a bargain price. You know how much I love bargains!

I was able to find some cute eyeshadow that I liked. Doesn't it look pretty! I think I might "want" this pretty badly... . A girl can never have too much eyeshadow!

I also found some lip glaze that is pretty. Again I think I really "want" it! There were a couple of different colors that I really liked so I know I'm gonna have a hard time picking just one. Decisions to be made!

So if you are needing or wanting some makeup head over to Bisou Cosmetics and take a look around.

What Have You Done This Weekend

I've spent the weekend getting to know my niece Mattie. She is pretty amazing. I've also spent the weekend playing with puppies! My brother's lab has a litter of 10 right now. So it's a little bit of heaven at his house. A baby and 10 puppies. Who could ask for more. I love puppies. Heather has already picked out a beautiful puppy for herself. She still has to name her and let her grow a bit. Shawn will bring her to us in Kansas in March when they come to have Mattie baptized. So Lena is gonna have a new friend. We also did some shopping this weekend. I found some cute things on sale at Target. LOVE TARGET!!!

So what have you done this weekend?

Who Is Taking A Trip

I'm taking a trip! Heather and I are going to Indiana to meet our niece. We are leaving bright and early in the morning, it's a long drive! We are staying until Tuesday. So I will probably not be posting. I'm gonna take my laptop just in case I can get a connection but I'm not counting on it. So have a good couple days. Maybe while I'm gone you could leave some questions in the comment section for me to tackle when I get back.

Over and Out!

Who Do You Use For Car Insurance?

The whole car insurance thing is driving me nuts! I've been trying for weeks to find affordable car insurance. What I actually want is a good rate for the house and the vehicles combined. Is that really to much to ask for? I just want one cheap car insurance quote! I don't think it helps that Heather is now included in my insurance. A 19 year old always jacks the rates up. She hasn't had any tickets and is a good driver but it doesn't matter. But she did get hit by a semi not to long ago. It just broke out her taillight but I'm sure that doesn't help... Crazy teenage drivers. But anyways I'm getting off topic. What I need is affordable car insurance. So if you know of the bargain insurance let me know.

So who do you use for car insurance?

Who Is An Aunt

Oh that would happen to be me! I'm so stinking excited!!! My brother Shawn and his wife Amanda have their first baby girl. Miss Maddie Joye arrived at 7:50 tonight and is a healthy little baby! How great is that. I can't wait to see her in person and hold her and spoil the heck out of her. We are going to have fun.

So do you have any nieces or nephews?

Who Knows A New Blogger

I know a new blogger named Lanie. Lanie is just getting started blogging, like she has a couple entries. I work with Lanie and kinda peer pressured her into blogging. I'm a bully like that sometimes. I just know that she will be great at it. Lanie knows a ton about fashion and style and things I don't know about. She always has the cutest hair in the office and the girl is a traveling fool lately. So I think she will have a lot to blog about.

So I was hoping that maybe some of my visitors that have been so kind and given me such great feedback could swing by Lanie's place and tell her hi. Maybe you could give her some nice advice about blogging. I've told her about The Bestest Blog of All Time, Wordless Wednesday's, Thursday Thirteen, etc. Maybe you could tell her about your favorite blogging tool and help her get going. If you stop by tell her I said hi!

While you are stopping by places make sure you stop by Dr. Blogstein's for the Bestest Blog Carnival 1.3. He did an amazingly funny job on this carnival. So stop by and see who is in it... I think that I might be...

So do you know a new blogger? If you do tell me where to find them and I'll go visit and give them a shout out here.

Did You Make A New Year's Resolution

I did not make any New Year's resolutions. Resolutions never work for me. By the end of the month I've forgotten about them so I just don't set myself up for failure. But I do always reevaluate some areas of my life around the New Year to may sure I'm on track. One thing is always my weight. This year I'm on track with that. I've been working out regularly for months now, I'm eating well, and my blood sugar has been fairly stable so that is good! Thank God!!!

Another thing I focus on is time management. I have always had a difficult time balancing work, school, and myself and my family life. It's something I struggle with often. Right now I seem to be managing alright but I start back to Grad School in a couple of weeks so I really need to prioritize and stay on top of this or I'll be running around like a crazy woman in no time.

I have come across a time management e-book that I think will help me. It has some good ideas about prioritizing, using a to do list effectively, eliminating useless work, and overcoming procrastination. So hopefully the book and the website will help me keep things on track!

So did you make a resolution? If so what is it?

Have You Been To The Carnival

Right now the PayPerPost Postie Blog Carnival is going on. There are lots of great blogs participating so make sure you stop by my other blog Hunna's Happenings to take part.

Did you check out the carnival?
